This live online workshop aims to:
1. Explore motivation in the 1-2-1 classroom
2. Explore 1-2-1 learning styles
3. Introduce participants to the 1-2-1 course
The workshop is based on the first module of the IH world 1-2-1 course which deals with motivation and learning styles. Given the teacher is faced with only one student, understanding these two areas is vital if the teacher is to effectively teach. In the session we’ll explore the different types of motivation students may (or may not) bring to the classroom and look at a list of student types and the baggage each carries in their language learning attitude. Together we’ll work out ways to deal with these so that the workshop ends with some concrete solutions.
While the workshop is open to all IH staff, those with substantial 121 experience may find themselves under challenged though we’re sure others would appreciate tapping into their knowledge. The workshop will be led by Shaun Wilden, Teacher Training Coordinator of IH World.
Tech needed to attend:
A reliable internet connection free of background noise and a mic/headphones headset. Headphones are imperative to avoid feedback for your fellow participants.
